Compare the Meekat

Does anyone else think that the meercat advert is just completely pointless and is just some stupid idea that someone has thrown together? When it comes onto the television it infuriates me because they could do better. I mean meerkats and comparing the market? What on earth is the association between the two?

I can't believe so many people like it. To be honest it's just ridiculous and people many love meerkats, I mean I like them but not cartoon ones with Russian accents.

I too am a meerkat lover!! The adverts I don't like are the 'We buy your gold' ones and "We buy any car .com!"

Is there meant to be an association between meerkats and comparing the market, omnom? Do you mean like there so obviously is between a bulldog with a Geordie accent and insurance? Or the business name Churchill itself (chosen wittily by a company which was then German to sell insurance to the British) and insurance ?
It's a bit of fun based on the conceit that we might type meerkat for market ( in practice that's not easy, but the idea that we are so very cack-handed is appealing ) and end up in what appears to be a dating service for meerkats, to the annoyance of the Russian proprietors.The CEO of the meerkat service finds the idea that anything so vulgar as insurance selling should be associated, even mistakenly, with him, grossly offensive and annoying.
That could only be aimed at the British.Animals, funny foreigners,jokes at snobbery, lateral thinking.....it has it all !

I love the meerkat adverts - I think Sergi will have a speaking part soon (;o D

The advert I hate the most - that bloody Cravendale Milk one with those stupid models they move around, this has to be the most cheapest advert to have been made.
I like their milk though !

It is a great campaign, love or loathe them they keep the company's name in your mind, which is the whole marketing purpose.

I love the Meerkats adds,but for me one of the worst adverts of all time was that screeching screaming woman's voice on the body form advert now they got it on another one - the one where that guy is hypnotized into going through a load of old ads we have to put up with it again.

aren't all adverts pointlss, especially the ones that think women are stupid, lash inserts, hair inserts, diet products advertised by NATURALLY skinny women, wonder wrinkle creams, they all make me so MAD!!!!!

Some of my favourite adverts were for W. H. Smiths when Nicholas Lyndhurst played all the parts, the old ones are the best
