wasnt sure which category...first time here! sorry!
I wouldn't allow a sixteen year old to go to Leeds festival with friends without some sort of adult supervision. But then I know what I was up to at sixteen and I could also have been described as 'mature and sensible.'
Just to ask this Q on here should tell you the answer.

Personally, I think it depends on the 16 year old. I certainly let my sixteen year old son do lots of things because I knew him well. He was more sensible at 16 than I was at 20!!

You know your daughter better than any of us and therefore I think you have made the right decision for you and for her.
I think I was 17 when I first went to Reading Festival. Best time ever but I do think that maybe 16 is that little bit too young. I would defo agree with next year!!
I went last year for the first time when I was 16. I was only allowed to go for the whole weeked because my dad was there (he goes to all the festivals, he didn't camp with me and my firends though) but if he wasn't there I would have only been allowed to get day tickets and not camp.
I think it depends on how mature your daughter is and if you think she can be trusted to behave. Some of my friends weren't allowed to stay for the weekend as their parents believed they were too young, however most of them were allowed to. If a reason you don't want her to go is because it's camping/staying there alone with friends maybe allow her to get day a ticket? (so she could go on the day and come home on the night) thats what my friends mams and dads let them do if they weren't allowed to camp. :-) x
