Good morning everyone - from sunny and warm down-under. We have a week or so in the mid 30's which will be very pleasant indeed, I think I'll be able to crawl out of the freezer for quite a few days and catch up on all the chores I've been ignoring and I hope things are beginning to 'defrost' for all of the colder areas around you.

Well, Kate did one of her predictable about-turns, with two 'gimme's' and two 'I'd never have thought of that !!' expect that in each case a small number of people did !!!

These were the matches -

House Plant
King Cobra
Ruby Throat
Scotch Broth

Four entries collected points with their House Plant and two - SLANEY [who knows her birds} and STRIX [ who is one] scored with a Ruby Throat, while the number of people who collected points for the combination of the other two - well, I was reminded of a line in Bridget Jones' Diary, when noting her alcohol units exclaimed 'oh, hundreds !!!' not quite that many, but about 35 - not bad !!!

Three people even managed to put the two with one of the others and make it 6 points and they were JOBJOCKEY, EIGGAM & PRESCOTT and very few managed not to score - there are actually one or two who try to make this an art form and both have failed dismally in their quest this month - Strix has aquired 2 points while Dustybun has scored 1 - who knows to what lengths they will go to avoid any more such disasters before the end of the month !!!

Needless to say, there has been considerable activity on the Leader Board so I will post this, just to prove I'm actually here and doing things - so Congratulations to everyone, a magnificent weekend !!!
and we'll all come back next Saturday, for the grand finale, so same time, same place, take care till then

Mine is simply because I can't spell, but you're wlecome to use the reduced form - skz, seeks or Steff - which ever, but how did we get onto armagnac ?? I shall investigate the cost and let you know later.
I know that I am not in the top of it, but I appear to have disappeared from the Leader Board !
It was the invitation to the booze-up, Steff. Armagnac is my 'poison'.
seeekeerz, having just done a stint as 'setter' for MM links maybe I can enlighten you as to why crofter had to do the posting. The 'blub' is emailed to crofter who vets it and sends it back for posting, but if his email is on the blink he can't send it so has to do the posting himself. All as clear as mud?
thanks for your efforts I know how much work goes into the running of these little diversions for us all.
Have a good OZ day.
Di
I can't believe (and probably everone else too) that I am still near the top and I have scored points again!!!! Thanks for the encouragement x
oops, sorry that should have been 'blurb'
Di
seeekereez i'm impressed and slightly amazed anybody got ruby throat well done to all
Much better now, Seekeerz, thanks, and remembering the 'freefall' club with affection. I believe Sarumite was the founder member, but not quite sure now. As one of my friends says, nowadays I have a 'forgettery' rather than a memory.
I think I prefer blub, Di!!

Middlestump ~ I started using the 'sleeping garlic' system as soon as I was told about it. I used to have one cold after another but I haven't had one full cold now in 19 years. Sometimes if you're with someone who's sneezing all over you (!) and you're thinking 'Lawdy, I ain't gonna avoid this one' slice a garlic clove in half, open yon gobbo wide and rub the 'bleeding' edge of the clove round the roof of your mouth. When you wake up in the morning all early signs of a cold will be gone.

All's well in the Warren Steff. Thought you might like to see some of the bunnies! http://images02.olx.c...1/28/52/4202652_2.jpg

Dusty - they're just too,too cute - don't you dare send them off to some carboot sale !!

keyboardix - I think a quick check will find you amongst the 7 point group - I hate having to use capitals, it all looks blurred.

the free-fall club - I remember that, but I think it was only MM - bless sarumite, I miss him and his sense of humour. We could easily do the same - but I'll make a ruling that only members who've been with us over 6 months will be elidgible [?] - I don't want any of our newcomers to get discouraged - not that it's a worry, they've all taken to it like a duck to water. Hopefully a few brave souls will make the leap to MM and then crofter will be pleased.

Do you lot realise I've been bossing you around for over 3 years now - I had to look it up to be certain and the fact I rarely put a date on anything doesn't help but it's true - doesn't time just fly when you're having fun !!!

Ooooo, quick note on the free fall club - if you must indulge, answers have to have a 1 in a million chance of being correct - anyone entering total impossibilities WILL be awarded points whenther they like it or not [please take note, Strix - there will be no more concrete poetry !!!!] [there's that bossy streak again]

Armagnac - now there's an odd tipple - all by itself or do you mix it and with what ????
Mine's a particularly speckky sauv blanc from nz and I can be quite savage once I've got my hands on a bottle - I tend to hide when I have and be piggy - very piggy !!!

Take care while you're musing on the riverbank and don't fall in, angler, or you'll be needing some of Dusty's lethal cure, and the rest of you keep out of mischief too !!
Heavens, I sound like a granny !!! bye, all Steff
Dusty - lovely pic :-) I will certainly try your vegetable therapy. Might also help keep the local blood-suckers away.

Steff - Mix armagnac with something??!! Quelle horreur!
Steff ~ how could you even think I would take them to a car boot sale?! Actually, I have a local butcher interested ...........

I know I have been waiting a long time for a handsome prince to come and wake me from my hundred years sleep but please, what is the free fall club? :0(
Dusty.... were they the result of the 'multiple birth' you had a couple of weeks ago?

Steff....the only thing that you should put in an armagnac is another one!
Exactly, Twic :-)
Typo alert - sorry Twix
Question Author
lol lots, at all of you !!! ok I've got the armagnac sorted in my mind, no i wouldn't corrupt it by adding anything to it either [ just can't see me drinking it in the first place - so all the more for you !! ] perhaps that would be a better remedy than the garlic !!!

Dusty --:))) how did you get a handsome prince and the free fall club muddled up - the latter sure as heck isn't going to wake you from your slumbers with a kiss - maybe you could try ebay ??? and I'll explain the rules as we go along next weekend.

would you believe after a glorious day yesterday, we have a thunderstorm rattling around - think I'd better go before it all blows up !!!
well, it appears that everyone seems to think so twix! I don't know what that strix would make of it if he remembered that in the KM Game of 12th December I had Labour Pains!!!! And me clickety click!!!!

Steff ~ you could put the garlic in with the armagnac. Don't worry, the armagnac won't spoil the flavour of the garlic!! Sorry, no handsome prince required. Was just trying to make the point that I miss so much of what's going on on this site that I might be asleep for 100 years rather than 40 winks sometimes!! Confused? You soon will be! :0)
