My granddaughter came out of her classroom this afternoon and almost collapsed. Her eyes rolled back in her head and she had to be caught before she fell down. We took her straight to the doctors and after examining her the doctor said she didnt know waht was wrong. Just keep an eye on her. My granddaughter then said her tummy hurt. When we got her home she was feeling better after an hour but this evening she is in pain with her tummy. Has anyone else had any of these symptoms.?

Had she eaten properly? Sounds a bit like low blood sugar and a warm sweet drink's normally a good cure for this.
hope it's nothing serious Lilacben. I've experienced gas pains which made me feel like you've described above. hot tea or soup, any hot liquid usually helps me when i feel like that. hope all will be well with her.

Yes I thought of that but she had eaten her lunch. And now thinking about it she said her tummy hurt and she felt strange, think she means faint as she said she couldnt see properly and she seemed spaced out. This started just after lunch. Now she is really crying with pain in her stomach.
Bt the pain in her tummy may have made her feel faint. I remember when I was young getting really bad stomach ache and feeling like that, I just had a lot of wind
do you have peppermint tea or fresh peppermint? peppermint tea will do her good if it's gas. if she can, let her sit on the loo for a bit, maybe the gas will come out. poor baby, i feel for her.
Sounds like a typical vaso vagal (faint) attack which could have been caused by many things one of which might have been a low blood sugar do to a low carbohydrate lunch.

Good advice from your doctor.

Many thanks. Just an update my soninlaw took her to the hospital last night as she was crying in complete agony. They kept her in all night and had to give her morphine for the pain. Though at first appendix but then decided to do some tests. Today they say not appendix but may me food allergy. So now testing for that. She has two inhalers for her breathing anyway because of chocolate, and milk, being on soya from a baby. So they are now thinking other food intolerance I think. She is still in hospital but being as they have noro virus there no one can visit , not even my daughter to take over so her husband can go to work. Just waiting now for next phone call.
lilac...thanks for the feedback.
My son suffers in this way if his blood sugar gets too low, he is not a diabetic but he does suffer with low sugar count, he carries glucose tablets in his pocket or if he is feeling a little odd he will have a bar of chocolate, that soon puts it right.

Hi, Many thanks for your replies. My granddaughter was allowed home today at 4. They still do not know what is wrong with her but have told my daughter to see how she is over the weekend and take her to GP on monday to ask for allergy tests for wheat. She is allergic to chocolate and has had some over and since christmas so it may have built up in her system. I dont really think it was that as chocolate makes her asthma reallt bad and it hasnt been any different. So now is just the wait for tests to come through.
