Isn't it odd how all Eurostar trains stopped in the undersea tunnel?

I'd be more worried if they weren't in the tunnel while underseas.

Do we know what % of the tunnel is indeed undersea?
it's a 31.4 mile tunnel, 23.5 miles is underwater

No, the sudden change in heat from the exterior to the interior caused condensation within the motors, this shorted out the electrics (electric circuits dislike water) and the train stopped.
It's odd that this hasn't happened before or been foreseen.
Another contributory reason given by Eurostar for the failures was ' fluffy ' snow

I'm just trying to think of another type of snow .
As this has never happened during the last 15 years of operation makes you think this global warming is producing another type of snow

it wouldn't be as bad if the rubber seals preventing the condensation hadn't degraded because of age. That way, the many thousands of people wouldn't be stuck.

Berti, have a look at the snow outside my window - not fluffy at all, more like instantly defrosting slush. The flakes are too big and drifty for sleet, so I do think they're snow, but there's a total lack of fluff.
