empathised - British dictionary

empathized - American dictionary - I am sure you have got it right by now bye
I have to disagree as i am using Collins English Dictionary and it is definitely spelt with a z empathized in there.
Chambers 10th lists -ized first with -ised as alternative
The -ize suffix has all but fallen out of use on this side of the Atlantic. Most newspaper and magazine style guides now go for -ise. Since this is always correct, it saves having to remember which verbs can (and some would argue ought to) have an -ize ending.
