I am on Vista with my laptop and I use the Windows Firewall. Every time I boot up, I get a pop-up box telling me my firewall is not switched on, so I have to do it manually,
Does anyone know haw to make it stay switched on, please

well, I get this very briefly when I boot up, but it quickly switches off; and whenever I check, the firewall is fine. I assume it just takes a couple of seconds longer for the firewall to boot up than the rest of the procedure. Could that be the case with you?
Some spyware and malware programs try to turn off security like firewalls and anti virus so they can go about their dirty deeds.

I am not saying you have spyware or malware but it may be worth running some anti spyware tools to see if it finds anything.

malwarebyes and spybot are two that come to mind.
btw I did a search in Google for "Windows firewall turns off" and many people get the problem but I could not find a solution.

The Windows Firewall SHOULD stay on.

You dont run any other firewall or Interent Security Suite do you?
I also get this , I am running Zone Alarm firewall, my windows firewall is always turned off until i turn it on manually do I need to run both? which is best?
