I had a stupid argument with my fifteenyear old daughter. She is not talking (2 Days) and is always threatening to go and live with my ex husband and its tearing me apart. Shes normally a good kid but was really rude and horrible to me because I cooked her tea and it wasn't how she liked it. She has gone to stay with my ex when we've rowed before, but she knew it hurt me deeply and she has a tiny room there compared to here so she came home. Also she has to fit in with her step brothers, here she gets my sole attention. To tell the truth I am afraid of my ex. He can be verbally very abusive and threatening to me. He never backs me up over my daughter and when she's been there she makes fun of me and derides me for begging her to come home. I just feel shattered by the whole thing

thanks guys, especially. Nosha and Lottie. Yes, suppose I will have to toughen up. I know shes playing one off against the other with me and her dad. Will have to handle it differently next time. She is at least talking to me, but still hasn't apologised, although I sense she wants to make amends!
kick her out and let her stay in that mingy little room at her dads, u enjoy ur life, i have two daughters and i would not stand for this nonsense, cook yoour own bloody tea i would tell them if they complained. mind my girls are only 5 and 2 bless they have plenty of time to cook, but they are cheeky just be tough.......u just need to take the no nonsense approach
when I was about 16, I complained that my mum had shrunk one of my t-shirts, she never did any of my washing again - if your daughter doesn't like what you cooked, she can do it herself next time!

Call her bluff over your ex, she's just pushing your buttons as all teenagers do.
No...all teenagers don't. They do what they can get away with.
Next time she storms off to stay with your ex, let her go, don't beg her to come back, and make the most of the free time. Go out and enjoy yourself and make sure she knows what a great time you're having without her. She'll soon realise it's not so great staying at her dad's and she'll be miffed that you're having a great time without her. Then when she begs to come home, sit her down and have a long talk with her - lay some ground rules about respect and pulling her weight. Good luck :)
