About three or four years ago, a bloke I know met a girl from Norwich (who was also a friend of mine) and eventually moved down to be with her (Norwich being about 200 miles away from where he lived).  Since then, me and some friends have been to stay with them on numerous occasions and I can honestly say that I can see why he moved there rather than his girlfriend moving here.

Not that I've got anything against the place I live, but Norwich is a lovely place and if I was in a similar situation, I wouldn't hesitate to move down there!

I live in Horsford,  3 miles from Norwich Airport and only 6 miles to city centre, its a really nice area to live in. The coast is under 25 miles away, loads of things if you have a family and good night life if you don't!!!!  We moved here nearly 6 years ago as husband got a job with a major insurance company here (?) I wouldn't want to go home (Scotland) now and contrary to what people say, Norfolk people are genuinely nice people, obviously it is like any other major city, it has nice areas and some not so nice.  As the sign says "Welcome to Norwich - a fine City".

I've known a fair number of people who have lived in Norfolk and they are all happy; as for Norwich they have found it great as a town and some are still living there. All as happy as Larry.

An hour or so to London and it's twenty miles from where I live on the coast.It's a lovely city.The shopping is great ..there is a huge market every day.The Cathedral is well worth a visit.Loads of restaurants and great clubbing for those who like clubbing!The broads right on the doorstep.

My dad lives in Norwich and I spend a fair bit of time up there.  There's plenty to do, and as someone else pointed out you don't have to drive for more then half an hour to reach a beach round there.  Also, you'll find that living closer to the beaches you'll find the nicer little known ones that are quieter and have great big sand dunes! 

The castle is great, and they do a tour around the dungeon which is pretty scary including original torturing equipment, so if you're into that type of thing it's cool.

The shopping centres are huuuuuuuuge and there is an even bigger one being opend in early autumn. 

Riverside has some fab pubs and bars, and Princes Street (I think) has some cool clubs, one of which is called Mercy and the likes of Dean Gaffney and Jordan hang out there.

Also, there are loads of places to eat like Mexican, American Diner style, Italian, Chinese, Indian, anything! 

And there is loads for youngsters including cinemas (loads of huge ones that do cheapy tickets for younger teens), bowling alleys, arcades, leisure centres, etc.  I'd move there if my fella's family weren't down here.

And they don't have New Years Eve they have Old Years Night.

I think we should all be on commission from Norfolk County Council for selling the place so well!  They do talk differently - "pooter" for Computer etc..  but you do get used to it! and besides there are a lot of "incomers" now and its getting a bit cosmopolitan in its old age.

Well I moved back to Norfolk after twenty years in London.Thought I would miss London but I don't.
Can get there easily from Norwich anyway to meet up with friends.As shaz-rla says Norwich is very cosmopolitan ,in fact most of Norfolk is now,with Hunstanton and Sheringham now being dubbed Chelsea and Kensingston -on-Sea.
