My 17 month old daughter has a red rash on the roof of her mouth. Any ideas what this could be (doesn't look like thrush) and what, if anything, should I do about it?

She also has a tooth (molar) coming through and very bad spots on her bum - could it all be due to teething? She seemed out of sorts yesterday - cried for most of the day and wouldn't go to sleep, but ate well and drank lots.

it does sound like thrush
I must say that Thrush doesn't come to mind, but they sound viral in origin.

Has she had he measles vaccination?

She's had thrush before and this looks different. She had the MMR at the beginning of the month.
Sounds viral..............just keep an eye that the spots do not appear on the skin.

Don't worry.

Thanks Bapla and Sqad. I'll keep an eye on her - she already seems happier than yesterday.
I seem to remember my kids got spots on the bum when teething. No idea why.
