Came home to take Max to the vet, poor thing took a turn for the worst late on last night. The vet has put him on a drip to help make him comfortable, it is probably his kidneys the vet tells me but I am awaiting a call from them. He was so miserable, I had to carry him in to the surgery and 2 weeks ago i could never have done that , he's lost alot of weight very quickly. He just flopped onto the examination table and lay there without a movement, that's not like him, he would never volunarily go into the building let alone tolerate getting up on the high table! oh well, what will be will be.

So very sorry Dot x
you could scatter his ashes on one of the place you would take hime for a walk.
My parents emigrated to france and took the dog and when she died they buried her under a willow tree in the back garden.

Dave.
I had Shaney cremated Dot . .They will do them on their own . I didn't want him put in a communal one .My vet organised it and they sent to him a pet cemetery in Cambridge .He came back in a box with a lovely card etc and my son made a proper wooden box for it all and he sits in the front room with his photo and I still say goodnight to him :(

Awww Dot you have my deepest sympathy.
What a loss.
RIP lovely soul. You suffering is over.
If it should be that I grow weak
And pain should keep me from my sleep,
Then you must do what must be done,
For this last battle cannot be won.

You will be sad, I understand.
Don't let your grief then stay your hand.
For this day, more than all the rest,
Your love for me must stand the test.

We've had so many happy years.
What is to come can hold no fears.
You'd not want me to suffer so;
The time has come -- please let me go.

Take me where my need they'll tend,
And please stay with me till the end.
Hold me firm and speak to me,
Until my eyes no longer see.

I know in time that you will see
The kindness that you did for me.
Although my tail its last has waved,
From pain and suffering I've been saved.

Please do not grieve -- it must be you
Who had this painful thing to do.
We've been so close, we two, these years;
Don't let your heart hold back its tears.
I'm really sorry Dot. I know what it's like to lose an animal. Max had a good life with you and it seems he passed in a peaceful way so he was one lucky dog in so many ways. I know that doesn't make it any easier for you tonight... I hope you'll be able to sleep some. /xx
Dot I know what you are going through I had my lovely Labrador of 13 put to sleep just over 8 weeks ago. He is still here with me and I miss him terrible. I light a candle beside his photo every evening it helps to know that he knows I am thinking of him.
