I have a water but (22 gallon) and want to install a pump to get mains pressure water.  Can anyone recommend a pump to use.  None of the ones I find, eg draper submersible pump, indicate whether or not the output can be attached to a hosepipe and will produce a decent pressure?

yes that is it

I don't want to be a wet blanket, but I recall reading about someone watering his garden from a butt during a hosepipe ban and being fined. Apparently, any rainwater belongs to the water company, as it's in their catchment area. I should contact your water company before attempting to beat a ban and clarify the situation. Sounds mad, but it's perfectly true. I suppose it could be to prevent people filling water butts from the tap and claiming it's rainwater.
isn't it illegal?
