Crop pics in Adobe

i have downloaded a couple of images from the net (free allowable downlaods) which have arrived in Adobe Reader 9. However, I want to use just part of one of the downloads, and want to crop it, but I'm beinbg told it will only open in Adobe Reader 9 and Internet Explorer. But, I cannot find any way of cropping these - can you help?
prev PC often won\'t fire up.
