my friend's husband is in prison and I can tell you that life for her and her children has been absolute hell.

the friends and family left behind can suffer terribly.

thanks Wizard, that's an interesting insight. I can't imagine how awful it would be, just losing your liberty, choosing to go out for some fresh air, wondering what your friends and family are doing.. very sad. I'm pleased you had the support you needed.

and for the record, I have a rubbish memory but hopefully remember the stuff I think is important :o)
