Earliest time to know when pregnant

Sorry for being really stupid asking this question but how early can you detect you are pregnant after having s*x?

I know Im around my ovulation date and last Tuesday and this Saturday we have taken a risk. We are wanting another child so its not a bad risk.

Sounds silly but I feel extremely tender in my lower abdomen but never had this with my first child ... no strange symptoms leading up to discovering I was pregnant.

There is a test on the market that claims to tell you 6 days before your period is due, but it is apparently only accrate in less than 1/2 of women.
so in thoery, six days before your missed period

its not a risk if you are actively trying for a baby

We are not actively trying - but if it happened then thats fine. I just couldnt remember the earliest I could test.

Im already having the lower back pains and cramps in my belly yet my period is not due for another 2 weeks! I know I sound stupid even talking about it but I just have "that feeling"

Sounds like wishful thinking to me. The first time I knew was when I was more than 4 days late, and my first symptom was tender breasts. We had been trying for 12 months but hysterically in the 70's you couldn't go to the doctor for confirmation until you had missed your 2nd period as well. Then my water tests kept coming back negative! I was 11 weeks pregnant before it was confirmed by my GP with an internal examination! I had already 'gone off' tea and cigarettes by then and had a slight tum!

Oh yes - Id love another baby now. We arent actively trying but we (my partner) was fine without protection. I JUST WANT TO KNOW NOW - LOL!!

Got another 2 weeks yet but wishing something would show earlier - will just have to wait and hope this lower back pain is not mother nature about to throw a bad period at me - LOL!

you could ask your doctor for a beta human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) blood test this is very accurate and can tell 7/12 days from possible conception.whether you are pregnant or not.
