Im a massive Alan Partridge fan and waited for his new series with great expectations but...nobody could be more suprised than me that I dont find it FUNNY. Ive not even tuned in after the 2nd episode. Anyone else out there feeling the same or have I just mislaid my funny bone?

I disagree. The first episode was a bit hit and miss and I could live without the canned laughter, but it's got better each week and the last episode was pure class. If you think back, Michael always had a bit of a psycho undercurrent - it's just become more noticable.
You absolute cretin. The 3rd episode was definitely the best partridge in years. Definitely a classic partridge by all accounts. The Lex files! God that's good.
I can see your point LISAB, I have stuck with the sereies, and the rewards are showing through now. I think Steve Coogan is too canny a writer to blast everyone with killer material in Episode One, leaving the rest of the series as a limp fill-in. The first epsiode was to an extent scene-setting and filling in the gaps, and letting SAlan settle into his new lifestyle. It is a lot darker this time roudn, something I personally enjoy, so may I suggest you give the series another look, and if you still don't enjoy it, fair enough. It's a shame to feel let down by a much-anticipated artist, but that's the price we pay for enjoying art - it can't be that good all the time.

Can only echo most other answers. Getting better every week, and last one was hilarious. Definitely much blacker than previous series though, and isn't he just vile? Did anyone recognise the girlfriend from Coronation St? I didn't!

Thanks for everyones feedback. Seems I should have stuck with it!
I agree Monday's episode was one of the best in the show's history. The script is sharper than ever. The canned laughter must go though. Doesn't the BBC learn that some of its most popular comedies (The Office, People Like Us, The League of Gentlemen etc) have got by just fine without it?

I'm with Einstein on this one. The new series of I'm Alan Partridge is very good in parts, but has lost a lot of the subtlety that made the first one such a classic. There have been some brilliant moments but it's been too over-the-top and self-indulgent. Alan's character is just not believable any more. Alan
