Ignoble. What a good word it is - not used very often, but should be used more IMO.
I have just seen it used in a Times article to describe the shameful treatment of injured soldiers having their compensation money reduced. How very ignoble.

Have a male boss accidentally touch your bum or leer at your breasts & you get multi-thousands. Have 3 limbs blown off when fighting for your country and have whatever paltry sum (in comparison) clawed back or reduced by some greedy c0ck-eyed government through the court of appeal.

This country is full of Ignominies.

Salla that is very true,
and I also think that members of the armed forces should be better compensated for their injuries, But you cannot compare it with sexuall harrassment,
ie, a soldier Knows and accepts these risks when he joins the service, whereas a bird with big boobs should not be taunted by male collegues. although having worked among women, many many years ago, touching and leering had to be done by the males, or one got a reputation for being queer, and yes I am refering to a time before the word gay was hijacked from our vocabulary.
you are right about those ignominies. a group of them have camped on the field at the end of my road. they are full of obloquies.
logic...have I got this right?

When you worked amongst women and didn't touch them up or leer at them, you would have been in danger of being called a " you know".

Where did you work......in a Brothel?

I'm not saying (genuine) sexual harrassment is right, of course it isn't, and it's a good thing that we've all become a little more civilised since the average woman worker expected to get felt up & lewd suggestions made if she worked with males. That was just something that sprang to mind when I read about the soldiers getting compensation money took off them.

It's all a bit skew whiff isn't it?
it is, but then one payment comes from private funds which are typically vast, the other comes from the public purse.
Have 3 limbs blown off when fighting for your country

What about the soldiers that we kill or maim in the countries we go to? When they are made disabled or killed, sometimes 3 generations in one house will now have to do without their breadwinner and will probably starve to death.......we have free health, dental care and the soldiers&familys at least get something.

id say we get a hell of a lot of a better deal then them.

no?
Yes salla it is.

and sqad no you haven't got it right.
The brothels that I heard about didn't have many male workers,

I see your point Leggs (apt name on this thread....) - & of course our soldiers get a better deal in comparison to them. I still think though, that once compensation has been granted and given, they've one hell of a cheek then trying to claw some of it back because they've suddenly realised the scale of the whole thing and what they might have to fork out in the future.

They should have considered that before sending these lads and lasses out to War in the first place.
