It is difficult today, the Toughie seems to be easier :-)
But it has some interesting quirks, so keep at it :-)

Iagree it is not the usual DT cryptic fare.

This puzzle is special, presumably because it is numbered 26,000 - a landmark possibly.

Not only is it a possible landmark it is also a pangram, but you don't get to find that out until you have completed it. There are some hints to that in the clues.
