I have just got a West Highland terrier pup, it is eight weeks old and have had it for one week. It is very tired, always sleeping, when she sleeps she cannot settled she always gets up to look for a cold floor, she does not play like puppies do. She eat okay, toilets are okay, walking okay. She smells of urine.
I am taking her to the vet tommorow because she does not act or play like a puppy and she is not happy.
Can anyone tell me what it might be.
Thank you

8 weeks is not abnormally young for a small breed to leave home. This one sounds pretty normal. All pups sleep a lot. She may not seem happy at first. Who would, after being taken away from 'Mum' and family and put in a strange place alone? She'll be looking for a cold floor because she finds other surfaces a bit too warm. Adult dogs do this, sometimes lying flat out with their legs spreadeagled to get maximum belly contact with the cold surface! However, she should be taken to the vet simply to be checked over. All pups benefit from that.
My pups leave home at 8 weeks (small breed) and although they do sleep a lot at that age, when they are awake they are very playful for about half an hour at a time, then just crawl off and drop off to sleep, They will wake up and need to wee or poo, and when they have eaten they will also need to go, and usually after playing for a while they suddenly need to pee. They always have (or are sent off with) toys and treats such as pigs ears, and they will spend ages chewing or playing either out with the family or in their puppy pen. I would definitely get her checked.
Just one thing, while she is this young, don't let her play too long or have to much exercise - she should not be going for a walk until she is about three months old and then only for about ten minutes at a time, maybe a couple of times a day. Have you asked the breeder how the other puppies are doing?
Another thought, has she been wormed, as she may be uncomfortable if she has a tummy full of worms. Is her tummy hard and full, what is her coat like? The vet will give you some puppy wormer anyway, so take his advice.
I am glad you are taking her to the vet. Puppies shouldn't smell of urine, where di you get her and who told you she was 8 weeks old?
Please let us know how you get on?
