hi, my iPod is not detected by my computer, i have the ORIGINAL iPod nano (not the 2nd 3rd or 4th gen), ive tried the following and no joy;

toggle hold on & off
installed latest iTunes
push both MENU & middle button to reset
tried new usb slot & different PC

it jus displays "Battery Very Low" even though its been on charge for ages, also from time to time a little symbol of an unhappy iPod symbol apears with an " ! "

I don't think they're replaceable... easily... you have to take the damn thing apart...
