Do I need an outside aerial to use a portable digital TV. I have a digital tv with outside aerial which operates in one room only but there is no aerial socket in the rooms where we wish to use the portable. Our old analogue set had a little aerial which stood on top of the set.

unless you live pretty much under the transmitter then it's highly unlikely you will get a digital signal with a set-top antenna.

Thanks, that seems to be the view of local TV shop. Wanted to make sure i was not being conned into buying a second aerial.
he didn't say that ...

talk to your aerial man about a splitter 1 in ... a few out
could be a cheaper option .... depends what's involved

then again ... might not be practical .... he'll know
get a couple of opinions - if it's an aerial make sure you get a high gain one .... esp for digital

(chums - let's just call them digital aerials ... that's what the amount to these days .... I know I know ... but it's less typing - and easier for non Ts to understand)
