The real weather.

Isn`t it about time that the BBC or any other channel got some on the spot weather forecasters or temperature readings... It wouldn`t cost much (i would do it for nothing) Just a few individuals ringing in with the local readings every day.
The weather man says where I live will be 21 degrees today, when in fact it`s bloody freezing and my thermometer reads 15 degrees, there`s a westerly gale blowing and we haven`t seen any sunshine for 3 years except for 2 days in June.
My second question on the same link is- Where is our summers gone??? My shorts are moth eaten and our sun lotion factor 0 is out of date and stale.
Stuff the swine flu as I predict we will all have rickets and cataracts from lack of sunshine in a few years but the weather man is still smiling and still trying to convince us we need rain for the gardens.
I could go on but i`m too angry and I haven`t got a lot of energy through lack of sunshine.

Do you live in the Lake District by any chance ? I only ask because it is pretty much the wettest place in Britain - something to do with all that ocean to the west and those nice hills I believe.
The BBC get their forecasts from the Met Office, which has something like 80 weather stations dotted around the country. The information provided by them, satellites and various other sources go to make up the general forecast, which is what you get on TV and radio. And general means general, not particularly specific to any one place.
If you want a forecast which is more local to you, tune in to your local radio stations. Or go to the Met Office site http://www.metoffice.org.uk/ and click on the Weather tab. On the page which comes up you will find a link to the UK region and location forecasts. When you get there, select your region, then select the town nearest to you or enter a post code and away you go.

Venturing out of the back door this morning, the sky was black, the wind was up, and it definitely felt chillier than over the past few weeks. The rain duly bucketed down - for a short time, and then the sun came out. A few hours later and it's still shining here. Don't know what the temperature is at the moment, but it's not cold. Think I'll give the weather people a ring! : )
