On Internet Explorer click Help and then About Internet Explorer.

The 2nd line should say "Cipher Strength - 128 bit".

After a certain version of IE (can't remember which) 128 bit encryption was standard.

Every browser available today that hasn't been replaced has a minimum of 128 bit.  IE version 1 may not but if you download the latest version of it, it certainly will.

Also, look for the padlock in the bottom right of the browser window, run the mouse pointer over it and it should pop up 128 bit encryption.

And, any secure website will start https in the address, so check for this as well.
