Dowloading You tube to MP3

Is it legal to use a "You Tube to MP3 convertor" to download and transfer You tube music onto an ipod? It seems very quick and easy to do, but what are the risks? Virus/ illegal? Any advice or feedback would be appreciated

Virus? Doubtful.

Legal? The question you need to ask is "do I have permission from the copyright holder of this video/audio to make a copy of it?" If yes, then it's legal. If no, then it's not.

Of course it is not legal.These videos are copyrighted and many shouldn't even be on YouTube in the first place.
I doubt you would get a virus from downloading them though.
