Hi, I'm trying to get my notebook to recognise SD cards (micro with adaptor). All I can get is something about Rich Bay1 controller and the hardware wizard cannot find the driver. Google searches have taken me 3 times round the world but always back to where I started! Anyone any ideas please?

The PC is an dated Asus A4000.

Cheers

Thanks.

It is an oldish laptop (Asus 4000) with a slot that came with a blank labelled SD. So I assume it is an SD drive. I meant "Ricoh Bay1 Controller", not "Rich Bay1"...fat fingers!
I tried to use a Micro card in an SD adaptor. The memory card works OK (in a USB adaptor) but a genuine SD card from a camera would work in that way (though I guess I can get a cheap adaptor)
OS is XP Home. The install wizard can't find a driver. Web searches have brought nothing that works (and a few other people whio seem to have the same problem).

Any advice appreciated.
that's better

http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx ?SLanguage=en-uk

select
notebook
a4000 series
and then the model number (look underneath your lappy)
click search
select the OS (winXP)

(then probably)
click on others (6)
one of the options should be
Card Reader Driver

download and install
should all work after a restart

all the drivers for your machine can be found there as well
