22 across Quality's more frequently found in domestic appliance (5, 8) Answer is WATERS-OFTENER Beats me why WATER is quality.

12 down In triumph carry wife to country's president (10)
Answer is CHAIR-W-OMAN How is CHAIR In triumph?

28 across River trial is most demanding (8)
D - - - E - T

23 down Mother, her children slaughtered, turning in decoration (5) N - O - -

Anyone any ides for the last two, please?

22a - water means quality. as in a diamond of the first water

it can't be deepest, because there are only seven letters not 8 as asked for also pest is not really a word for trial. I would expect the answer to end in test., but I can't at the moment think of a 4 letter river beginning with d.

Yes, someone has just pointed that out on the bulletin board of the Times Crossword Club. I don't know if they will post another one.
Sorry, but 28 across had 7 letters it was a typo and PEST isn't trial I agree, but the compiler is a bit vague, see previous comments.

Thanks, I can see it now. Still don't see the connection of CHAIR and In triumph though. Julie, yes it's the online crossword. Once again the (subscribed to) Crossword Club hasmade one of those regular errors and people like myself who work abroad will have to wait until they sort it. I and many others keep complaining, but they don't even post my comments on the bulletin board. At least the last seven comments were ignored.
