CD-R Disc not working

I placed my disc into drive and it does not open the files on it. When I click on computer, it shows that the disc is in the drive and has data on it. When I click on the drive which is e:, it does not show that there is anything on disc. I just looked at the pictures on Monday. Please any help would be appreciated.

Check the disc for any obvious marks, and if so, try (gently) cleaning off.

That said, discs do sometimes just stop working no matter what.
