I joined XBox live today. As Mrs Booldawg and Junior Booldawg both have profiles on the Xbox am I right in my understanding that they can't create their own online gamer-tag and will have to use my gamertag on my profile unless they want to shell out 40 for their own?

If so MS are taking the p155. Surely if you've paid the money to go online with your xbox then other profile users should be able to create their own persona and enjoy it too. Who wants other family members stuffing up their saved games and online acheivements?

It is a good service for the money but it does seem akin to an ISP charging each user to log-on to an internet account on the same family PC. You pay a monthly charge and everyone in the family can have their own mail-box, log-in etc.
also you can get it for less than 40 if you shop around.
last time out i paid 31 for 12+1 months.
Now I'm curious. How exactly do you shop around?
