My husband has just re-stained the parquet floor in the lounge and buffed it up. It looks great but it's very slippy. Can't wear socks, even just bare feet is dodgy, can't wear shoes all the time in the house. Please has anyone any ideas how to take the slippiness off the floor, it's like treading on eggshells just to cross the room!!!!

Buy some of those socks with the rubber grippy things on the soles, sorry can't remember the name.

You can buy clear nonslip polish that you brush on. Should do the trick.

I think galltin might be thinking of 'Totes'. They are very good to wear on slippery floors.

Thanks Loosehead, I'll check out the polish. About the socks, galltin, nice idea but don't fancy wearing totes all through summer!
That's right smudge , I did mean Totes. I can see your point though quizzywig, what about flipflops?
