I has decided to make some simple geometic design box canvasses for my newly decorated room - using sample pot emulsions in same colour as the walls and toning, more dramtic shades. Basically they are vertical lines in varying shades and of varying widths, but I would like to paint a perfect circle, also in stripes, as a contract over the top of the vertical stripes.... any ides for a template for the circle? Something that won't spoil the exisitng emulsion stripes obviously.....??

Draw round a plate, a saucepan lid, a bin lid, depending on the size of the cannvas.
Tie a piece of thread to a teeny tiny pin and tie a piece of chalk or something similar to the other end. The thread should be the length of your desired radius. Stick the teeny tiny needle into the centre (or wherever) of your canvas and have someone help you hold the pin still so it won't dig an unnecessarily big hole while you go round with the chalk.
