I'm running my MacBook in stealth mode with the firewall set to only allow specific apps and have Little Snitch running as well, does this significantly affect my download speed?. I used to get at least 16mbs but recently only getting at best 11mbs.

Thanks for any help

I would doubt it.

Try disabling them temporarily and see (perhaps just one at a time).
stealthmode ... ?
I thought MACs were immune to all known threats
I expected loud and proud mode
and little snitch ... again what happened to big burly braggart
... broadcast - come on if you think you're hard enough!!!

however ... even a "paltry" 11Mb/s sounds quite respectable

Cheers fo3nix, that's what I thought, tried what you said and no change, must be something with my ISP. Thanks for the quick sensible reply
shiznit what is stealth mode? I had my MBP 4 1 year and aint heard of this. A really good forum is www.mac-forums.com

It's in your security settings. Mac's have had it for ages. If your running Leopard it is under Firewall > Advanced.

I do use MacForums but fo3nix know his/her stuff and always answers quicker than any one else.
