Noisy cockeral

I have a problem with a neighbour who has a cockeral in his garden......it wakes me up at 5am every day and it calls until I get up at 7am then all day long, I am sooooo tired!!! What can I do? I tried the council but nothing has happened. The neighbour is not approchable, he is likely to tell me to get lost!! We live in a town. Please help with any ideas!!

check out with the local council as to their bye- laws - always thought one couldn't keep roosters in town for this very reason - i.e. nuisance. Real pity though that you can't chat with your neighbour and resolve this without getting heavy - regretably can't think of any other legalsolution.

Sounds very much as if this should come within the remit of the Environmental Health Officer at your local Council.

If I was you, it wouldn't hurt your case if you started recording some of the squawking for evidential purposes.

And don't let the EHO try to put you off - it's their "bag".
