a quick google suggests Glenrothes, but I don't know personally
Question Author
Thank's for that...
I googled too and came up with conflicting info.
Lloyds
Glenrothes
G2 8AB

However the postcode is in Glasgow and Glenrothes is in Fife..
odd lol.
Before I waste any time on this is there any chance of telling us what possible use the info could be? I doubt the branch address is relevant.
And can anyone tell me why do only green newbies ask these questions?

You're a ray of sunshine aren't you morgan23?

As per the Lloyds TSB website

Glenrothes
7-9 Postgate
Glenrothes
Fife
KY7 5LH

Sortcodes: 87-68-94

Now, how about you apologise for the abuse?

Unquote..

Was there any need for the above opening statement to a new member?
I asked what I thought to be a reasonable question and got an insulting response from the above poster.
jno didn't seem to have any issues with my polite request.

Was there any need for the abuse you wrote? I appreciate you are upset at being conned but that is no reason to vent yir anger at anyone else.

Yes and so do I.
Did factor insult you? No. Imply you had the intelligence of a five-year old? No.

All you had to post in response was the reason for the request, not difficult eh? I

I would rather be boring than obnoxious.
Don't you know how to google, morgan23?

The information you sought can easily be found by anybody - or even by a telephone call to Lloyds.

Obviously it is too much for you.

Ethel YOU are too much for me

If you are on a forum ETHEL then YOU SHOULD Know when to stay silent until you have something constructive to offer.
You have said nothing at all constructive, maybe abuse is your only form of communication.

Stress kills.
I have been out all day but just seen this thread. I will apologise morgan23 for the tone of my initial posting. I have answered many postings about sort codes and I think every one has been from a new AB member and 95% have never acknowledged the help we Answerbankers give.

Also I and others have queried what possible use the info could be, but 95% of the time the poster never enlightens us. Some suggest the requests are from either fraudsters or the cash machine equivalent of trainspotters- I've never said that but I have queried what possible use the info is.

I have also wondered why anone takes the troubl to sign up to AB to ask a question that can be answered more easily by your bank or via Google.

If there is a fraud I think you should ask your bank or ask lloyds. I'm puzled as to what use the branch address is to you in chasing up a fraud. You don't have to tell us, of course, but I'd be really interested to know, so I may be more inclined to help others in future with sort code queries.

Anyway, sorry if I got the tone wrong and tarred you with the same brush as most other green newbie sort code query posters who, to me (as I'm a pretensious berk), are generally time wasters in my view.
