Hi could somebody tell me what is the difference between parental responsibility order and joint custody, if any and does it matter that the parents were not married, cheers

parental responsibility means parent(or another i.e. local authority who have care order) have a rights in the upbringing, education and welfare of a child, joint custody does not exist in law, a residency order means that the child lives with the person or persons named.
If parents are not married and the child was born after 2003 then both parents automatically have parental responsibility. PR can be applied for by the father in court if the child was born prior to 2003
