I dont like being preached to by you people
Underground hip hop sucks. They cant flow, their voices are annoying, They should write poetry instead of rap. Their beats are wack and all sound the same and they have elitist attitudes and act like theyre so much better than anyone who makes money off hip hop, which is a result of their insecurities and crushed dreams.

You've obviously never been to a decent hip hop night then? Its laid back, involved and it has relevance to uk. Doesn;t have to be termed underground as its very accessible. Its a different sound, but at least it isn't kanye f'ing west or 50 cent.
Question Author

Whats wrong with Kanye f'ing West?
At least he isnt Task f'ing force or Brain f'ing Tax :)
And I dont like 50 cent, Kanye West is a nice rapper with some of the hottest beats ever, nice lyrics and a nice flow. Whats wrong with him?
I doubt youve even ever listened to any Kanye shyt. And I'd appreciate it if, in the future, you didnt post your irrelevant underground preaching in my questions. thanks rob

oooo touched a nerve!! wasn't preaching, and again its not underground!!!
Question Author

heh. Im not mad or anythin.
But yea, They're underground, They're not mainstream. I doubt Jehst has ever got radio play

Suppose its how you class underground. Its normally some tagged to music by people that think its "cool" to like music thats not not in the mainstream. If you take DnB it gets hardly any airplay - but thats not really underground either. Most of the UKHH, is accesible as its signed to labels and available from your local HMV (you can even get Mc Pitman albums from there!). They're by no means pop music played on radio, but theres not just underground and pop genres. Some are closer to "pop" than others ie, Jehst and Roots Manuva

Question Author

Underground means NOT mainstream. Therefore they are all underground. Anythnig that gets radio play isnt pop. dont be stupid

The POP charts now include airplay. Anything thats gets regular play on commercial radio and daytime radio 1 is pop. Your saying everything that doesn;t get play on commercial radio is "underground", absolutely no way is that true! I actually bought Roots Manuva and Jehst CD's from ASDA of all places - that cannot be classed as "underground"! Underground - unsigned or signed to minor independant labels.

Question Author

Jehst and Roots Manuva are signed to minor independent labels

not as minor as i'm talking about though - like i say their albums are available in ASDA, that canNOT be classed as underground. Its the most common of common supermarkets!

Question Author
Not All ASDAS though. I know somebody who works in the music section at an ASDA. Basically they have the POP CHART CDs and then a section of CDs that will sell most in the area that the ASDA is. For example, in more higher class areas, they would  have Classical and Jazz, and so on. Ive never seen Jehst on MTV, hes underground. But were not arguing what is underground and what isnt, anyway Thank you for your suggestion but that isnt my taste. I dont listen to much hip hop anymore anyway apart from Kanye and some others, One UK Hip hop artist I like is Ty.
