Hi, does anyone know an easy way to stop Tiscali adding [POSSIBLESPAM] to nearly all of my OUTgoing emails please?

(Talking to Tiscali is no more use than whistling up your back end. As many others have found out when trying to find an answer to this problem)

I have no problems with IN coming mails.

Only used Tiscali once a couple of years ago when I was having trouble with BT / Yahoo and NTL swapover.

Usually, there is a spam setting in e-mail options. You can set it to a sort of high, medium, low, or none, for e-mail access.

You could also do a Tiscali search for, "Spam settings"

Just a thought, until a Tiscali pro comes along to advise

Thanks Old salt. I think those ideas work for incoming mail only, not stuff I'm sending. If I send an email to myself Tiscali sets the spam heading. Me to Me via Tiscali. It blows the mind. It is an old problem.

Presumably this is added by Tiscali themselves. AOL used to do something similar. They decided what were spam addresses and what were not and the user had no say.

This sounds like something similar. I would advise contacting Tiscali as they may have put this on your account if someone has used your email address to send out spam.

Thanks. That could be part of the problem; I have had spam "from myself". Tiscali is such a shoddy outfit they are likely to mess it up more than anyone else. (I've spent over 2 months reporting it; they are utterly useless.)

I would never recommend that anybody uses their ISP based email address anyhow. if you do then when or if you change ISP you loose that email address.

Its a far better idea to setup a free email address elsewhere that you can keep for ever, even if you change your ISP.

I use hotmail, but many others use Gmail and say good things about it.

Thanks Chuck. If that would have saved the problem. I may have to think about it. Problem is moving from Tiscali (they will not let me keep my email from BB as a dial up or I'd have moved before).

You may remember you gave me good advice on F'Fox a few weeks ago. I posted it to Mozilla (with full credit to you) and a couple of people emailed to say thanks.

Glad it's helped a few people other than yourself and thanks for crediting me too :)

this problem is not our side .these is the problem of the Tiscali end . when we send the messages to the other mail accounts . Tiscali server add the tag in the mail as possible spam. so this problem is from the servers ide and they will resolve it early so no need to worry about it.

Thanks johnpol78. You confirm it is there fault; they will not admit that to me. How do you know they will resolve it? They have sent me tens of emails (and 'phoned many times) but never admitted blame nor said they would deal with it. I hope you are right.
