I can't seem to find any information about how to obtain a temporary working visa for Australia. I can only find one if you are aged 18-30, and I'm over 30. Any information would be welcome. Thanks.

You are right you can only get a 'temporary'  working visa for Australia if you are aged 18 - 30.  THere is no way round this so if you are older than this then if you wanted to work in Australia then you would have to go through the same routes as someone looking to emigrate, which is probably not what you are looking for.

Otherwise you just have to get a standard tourist visa, the most usual one allows you to stay up to 3 months stay or there are also ones for up to 6 or 12 months.

Thanks morg_monster
The other thing you can do is get a tourist visa, once your there get a cash in hand job, when your visa runs out fly over to New Zealand or somewhere else close by like Fiji and fly back into Australia on a renewed tourist visa. Repeat the process until you want to come home. My two mates working holiday visas ran out over a year ago and they are still there now by going through this process. They may get a bit of a grilling coming back through customs when they finally leave but having spent a year there myself i'd say its worth it. Just gotta hope you get the cash in hand job !!

If you go to www.dfat.gov.au (i think) and make your way to the visa section....

Don't attemp to work on a visitor visa...if you are found out you will have to leave the country straight away and there is a great chance that you will never be allowed to return.
Commit a serious offence in the UK, and when it comes to sentencing, ask to be sent to Australia. They used to do it for people in the UK, you may find a nice judge..

Haha like your style MargeB. I think any 'official' in Oz would let me in, on the grounds that I just want to see where they film Neighbours.

lol. I'd like to go there but for the fear that I'd be subjected to endless 'Eastenders' reruns. Ah, the irony.

Or try www.visaexpress.co.uk.
