Decking

Hu all, we are considering laying hardwood decking over our tired looking patio, but a mate of mine has told me that when he had decking he was plagued by rats and mice living in nests underneath the decking !! Has any one had similar problems or is my mate pulling my leg ?

yup mice and rats would go in there, in below sheds etc
especially if the gap under the decking is small
