The thread on embarrassing dates has reminded me of this one. When I was 17 I went on a date and the guy had a motorbike. I was telling one of my sisters that we'd done a ton up on the bike. I didn't know my mum had overheard me. She later collared the lad and told him "I don't want you taking my daughter on your bike and doing one of those fry ups"

Well mine always called them by the wrong name (I suspect sometimes on purpose)
My mother never did anything like that. She was actually very intuitive and whenever she told me that I was dating a waste of space, regardless of my protestations, she was always right.
mums eh, mrs_0 -
but we would'nt be here without 'em, would we?

it was embarrassing taking girlfriends to meet your mum, as mine used to hijack them and take them shopping and pampering for hours! i think that was her test, to sus 'em out to see what they were like, bless her?
