i think im addicted to chocolate!

im mad about chocolate and i know this isnt a new issue, i mean who doesnt like chocolate! but i really am eating so much of it and i dont know how to stop. everyday i say to myself ill eat good today etc etc, then i get home and i eat 3 chocolate bars at once! its really bad and i hate it but i dont know how to stop! nebody got any ideas?

Yes saxo - never go shopping when you're hungry, that way you may not crave to eat chocolate then, or want to buy it & take it home for later.

are you depriving yourself all day ? that could be why your eating so much of it when you get home. Try eating one or two bars during the day to start with and see does that make any difference. Maybe your blood sugar levels are low at certain times and thats why your cravings are so bad. Try eating/drinking more stuff high in glucose like orange juice. I know its easy in theory but it might work. Also, don't think of chocolate as a bad food, that way your not tormenting yourself when not eating it, consequently feeling guilty if giving in. good luck 

It has been scientifically proven that when you eat chocolate, your body releases endorphins into the system.  Endorphins are chemicals that make you feel good.  Evolutionarily, when we were still cave people, endorphins were released in order to reward the body for finding such a rich source of carbohydrates in one spot.  Substituting another source of endorphins for the chocolate will help your craving.  Orgasm is proven to release endorphins into your blood stream, so i would suggest masturbating every day.  It will take the place of chocolate endorphins and you will still feel good.

don't worry love, i've eaten two 150g bars of galaxy cholcolate in the past two days! Bad i know, but hey i follow my cravings. I was like you but eventually i started eating less just because i didn't feel like it anymore and i no longer thought of it as a issue. I still have days when i eat loads, but hey i have no self control- and proud!

I've heard it said that taking a GTF Chromium supplement can help cure the craving, but I haven't tried it and can't speak from personal experience.

r thanks so much everyone, il have to try just gradually stopping it. its mad though n i feel like such a woman lol. o well what can you do?!!! thanks for the responses!

don't feel too bad for yourself, evrybody likes chocolate! i love chocolate! i don't know if i'm addicted but i can do without for a certain time but then i just get the feeling that i need some chocolate, or i am in the mood for chocolate. Well, i just eat a lot all in one go to soothe my needs, and then i don't have that urge anymore. 6 bars of normal sized crunchies, flakes, mars bars, or snickers will do the trick, (if you get that far!!!)

I'm the same - I reach for a chocolate bar when I'm bored, sad, angry, hungry, etc etc, so I can eat upwards of 8 bars a day! I'm trying to cut down by hanging on just that little bit longer when I have a craving, and having a drink of juice or something until the craving passes!
Hey gys, what about your teeth?  I'm always scared to eat chocolate coz of the damage it does to teeth. Does it not cause your teeth  aany trouble?
I read once that cravings for sweet foods are really a sign of dehydration. Drink a glass of water and wait half an hour. Your cravings really do go away.
Either drink water/juice, brush your teeth or have a hot chocolate drink (that works for me) and only 40kcals per sachet too!  I know its not the same but exercising releases feel-good chemicals too (although its not as good as chocolate!!).  Good luck!!
I always have ravenous appetite for chocolate and always kill it with bananas!!!
How about trying a low fat hot chocolate drink instead? It will cure your cravings and won't be half so bad for you.
