The Archers - Stage Play 1953

i am researching for aboook about The Archers play from 1953, i know its a long shot but does anyone out there have any infomation on venues and dates, memories etc:

You could try asking via Archers Addicts, The Archers fan club.

...I didn't know there had been a stage play.
I do have a recording somewhere of a one-off radio play that was done as an early experiment in stereo broadcasting, circa 1965.

thanks, I will try the message board. Is the Radio play you mentioned an Archers if so i would love a copy (i will pay the costs). The play i think had a large tour but it did not feature any of the radio cast

The play wasn't part of The Archers, but it featured The Archers characters. I remember there was a train running near one of the fields, purely there so that the sound could pass from one speaker to the other.

The play was one of a few in a series called stereophony I think. The other plays weren't Archers related.

I think the listener had to ture one radio to one BBC station, and another radio to another BBC station to get the full stereo effect.

The play was still in the BBC sound archives in the 1980's.

that does sound interesting, would it be possible to have a copy, as in this book iam putting one off Plays and Docuementries etc featuring the archers, this is new one on me, i will pay for a costs or if you want to swap with any of the ones i have i got an old cine Promo film (on DVD) for the milk marketing board it show milk going from the farm to the doorstep it stars the cast of the archers as the archers. my email address is [email protected] if you are interested
