Hi, I am looking for some advice as I think I have been ripped off. On 10th Feb I tried to purchase an item from www.essencia.org.uk at a price of 64.99. I took the option of Paying with my credit card via Paypal, but when I tried to make the payment my PC crashed. I then went back to the essencia website to check the my account section, and it showed (and still shows) no transaction history. I assumed that this meant my payment had not been made. I then found a different website that had the item I wanted and I made an online purchase. I was contaced later that day to be informed that the item was out of stock, so I cancelled my order and no payment was taken. I searched for a couple of days to see if the item I wanted was available elsewhere, but with no luck. On the13th Feb I went back to the essencia website and tried again, and this time I was able to make the credit card payment via Paypal. On the 14th I was contacted by someone at essencia who said that the item was not available. My request for a refund was acccepted, but as yet no refund has been made. On Monday I looked at my Paypal account and have noticed that the original payment on the10th, and the second payment on the 13th were both taken from my credit card, so now I have paid essencia 129.98 without having received anything. I have sent 2 messages to them via their website, but still no reply. I looked on the essencia website again to see if there are any other contact details, and there is only the 'contact us' option, which is how I sent my earlier 2 messages anyway. My Paypal account shows an email address for them, but when I tried to send an email to this address it bounced back as non existent.

Please see part 2 of my post.

I wouldn't panic ,it's early days yet ...Essencia seem to be re-building their website and may not be able to contact you.
PayPal will tell you to wait so many days, before entering into a dispute....give it a bit longer.
Keep your e-mails regarding these transactions, as it will be easier to deal with if you file a dispute.
Having had one or two myself , I have found PayPal to be pretty enthusiastic when it comes to getting your money back...!
If my wife catches me checking up Essencia's web-site I'm going to have a pretty good excuse...can you help me with that...!
