phoneguard?

Yesterday I bought a new iphone 3G from the carphone warehouse and obviously I decided to take out an insurance plan for around 11 a month to protect the investment.
When I signed the contract, part of it said that people may phone me offering cheaper insurance and that this is probably a scam if it happens.

Well today I get several phone calls from a company called 'phoneguard' offering insurance for half the price.

Has anyone heard of them and if so are they reputable,
thanks

Could be a sort of scam - a scam from carphone warehouse.

The only people who should know you bought the phone is Carphone warehouse unless they sell on their lists. CW probably take a big commission from sales of insurance policies to their customers.

I bet a list of CW sales is also passed by CW to insurance companies twho try to sell policies where they can.

If CW have passed on the lists any approcah can't be a scam- unless CW passes your details on to scammers
i dont have separate insurance for any of our mobiles, its all covered on the house insurance.
I used to sell mobiles for many many years and I have never yet seen an insurance policy I would recommend. They are all a waste of money so cancel it and make sure your contents policy covers you.
I have had the exact same experience luckily when they started asking for my bank details i thought it was a little odd. I calleed Carphone Warehouse and Geek Squad (the cover i have actually taken out) who confirmed to me that this is a scam company who claim to beat your current insurance policy in order to get your details (they only have your name and number, everything else is what they aquire from infor you give them...cleverly worded questions. Dont fall for it i almost did. they have rang me constantly all day and have only given up now they realise i am clearly on to them.
i bought a phone from carphone warehouse a couple weeks ago and while i was at work my phone most of rang in my locker so wen i finished work there was a message left on my voicemail so i listened to it it said he was a guy called mike from quality control at phoneguard and that my 6300 nokia phone was now covered for 13 months insurance and that he has taken 60 out of my account which would show on my bank sealaway ltd i have never spoken to this guy and never give him or anyone else apart from carphone warehouse my details wen i got the phone so how as this scam company got my details i have been into carephone warehouse and ask them who this company is and they say they dont know and wasnt atall helpfull this company is getting peoples details somehow and can only be from carphone warehouse i have had to go to my bank for fraud so how these getting these details could it be from a worker at carphone warehouse or can they be hacking into there pcs? cause you dont have to talk to them give details cause somehow they have your details without givin them
