can my partner who passed his test in 1998 drive a small minibus. we have been told different stories. some say he cant some say he can drive up to a 9 seater, anyone have an idea of the truth. thanks

A standard driving licence issued in 1998 does not include category D1 entitlement. So your partner can't drive a minibus unless he's complying with all of the conditions in bold type under Section 2 of this leaflet:

hi just to let everyone know that, you are insured to drive up to an 8 seater on your own car insurance but you can drive up to a 12 seater if its from a hire company as they have special insurance
