She is receiving benefits of 1,126 a month, which includes rent, child benefit and family tax credit. Her mother Rachel Briggs, 40, who has six children, admitted she was disappointed her daughter was pregnant again but has vowed to support her.

Excuse me I think the tax payers are already supporting her, to the tune of almost 260 per week.

She split up with Jaden's father not long after the baby's birth and he does not pay any maintenance.

How does he get away with paying no maintenance?

Miss Robbins admitted that, although she and Mr Thomas did not want a baby, they had not been using contraception. She said: 'It just happened.'

Of course it will 'just happen' if you don't use any contraception.

And she joked: 'I've only got 15 years then they'll be doing what I've been doing - they'll go out and I'll stay in and look after their kids.'

That will be another 4 living off the state.

Mr Thomas said "Sian wants me to be at home with her until the babies are older, so I'll be signing on."

Now that is a surprise.

i remember dropping my brother off to sign on in Bradford and saw people (asians) getting out of brandnew Mercedes and walk in the job center to sign on.
Well said New Judge, I totaly agree with you!
>i remember dropping my brother off to sign on in Bradford >and saw people (asians) getting out of brand new >Mercedes and walk in the job center to sign on.

I was in my local dentists recently and was paying for my treatment.

Next to me was a well dressed Asian man in a suit who was also just "paying" for his treatment.

But he said he was on the dole/benefits so did not have to pay anything. The receptionist just got him to sign a form to say he did not have to pay.

But the way he was dressed (smart business suit) he was obviously going off to work.

Yet again it is us "mugs" who are too honest (or stupid) who have to pay, and the scroungers (who have the nerve to lie) who get everything on a plate.

Why cant the politicians see how much benefit fraud there is and do something about it (or are they too busy committing their own expenses fraud to worry).
parasitic vermin that deserve to be culled
I'd love to know what tests your going to put in place to decide who's wortyh of support and who isn't.

some of the other decisions have been laughable though
the one about stopping them buying big ticket items particularly made me chuckle!

the thing is we live in one of the richest countries in the world and ther is plenty of money that can be distributed to the more worse of than the employed.
I genuinely have no gripe with people obtaining benefits who can't work.

I do, however, have a massive gripe with those that receive benefits who choose not to work.

This is a crucial difference - surely you can see this, can't you?

Why should my income tax subsidise somebody who can't be arsed to work?
i had the misfortune recently to be unemployed for 3 months and had to claim JSA because of child tax credits etc and one of the first things i was told was if i dont try hard enough then my benefits would be stopped or i would be sent on training schemes,

i know lots of people who have been claiming benefits for years and are perfectly capable of working who haven't had their benefits stopped or sent on training schemes and just left to claim their money.

there are lots of jobs around that anyone could do so why arent these people been made to do them

I watched a programme about work camps which were set up in the 20's/30's where long term unemployed men were sent to work to try and make them more employable, this would be a good idea to re-establish today to get these work shy idiots contributing something to society instead of just contributing to growing national debts.

Another possibility is bringing back national service for those who try their hardest not to work and are only interested in what they can get for free

It seems to be very easy to switch from JSA to incapcity benefit .

I have a aquaintance ( a friend of a friend) who hasn't worked for ages. She is clearly milking the system and regularly switchs from JSA to sick pay. Her latest scam was selling a house (she had inherited half of it from her father) and buying another one during the time she was on sickness benefit so she didn't miss out on any housing benefit while she was renting.

She has been called into the office a few times and told she must get a job and been offered interviews and then she goes to the doctors and gets a sick note. While she is sick she goes off abroad (she clearly must have undeclared money as she's been to Dubai, Eygpt,Kenya) and each time turns her mobile off incase anyone rings it and ascertains she is no longer in the UK. She said if you are on JSA you can only have 2 weeks holiday but if you are on sick pay you can go on holiday.

How can this be right when she is at the gym, she goes to college to study courses like massage (not recognised as training by the govt) the office are aware and don't seem to do very much about it.

I maintain if you know how to work the system and you don't want to work you want. It isn't right but that is how it is.

nannyjill has this friend of a friend given you the correct facts.
been offered interviews and then she goes to the doctors and gets a sick note.
now if it is the same all over the country as in tameside, when you are on jobseekers allowance they no longer accept a sicknote from the doctor. you have to go for a full medical to go on incapacity benefit. a lady i know has been told to go to welfare rights as she will no longer get any money from them. the same has happened to a young lady who goes in the local chip shop.

i say the same as some others have said . if you get so much out of work , why not drop a few kids and join them ?
Nannyjill if you suspect benefit fraud, you can phone the National Benefit Fraud Hotline on 0800 854 440 or report it online here, https://secure.dwp.gov.uk/benefitfraud/
All I know is that she was defo receiving JSA then after she had an interview at the job centre she was asked to go for an job interview at a meat packing factory which she didn't want to do. She then went to her own GP and I know she got a sick note because she was asking my friend which bit she should fill in on the back and I saw the cert now what she did with it I don't know. I'm sure she sent it to the Job centre but I do know her benefit wasn't stopped.

You do not always have to have a full medical for incapacity benefit - you have to fill out a form and they ask you to submit a green form, filled in by your GP and signed by him, then after reading it they decide whether you ought to have a medical. If you score so many points they give you the benefit. But this may only apply if you've gone onto SSP and that has ended.

My friend has reported her about 4 times as she knows all the facts and neither of us can understand why nothing has happened.

They must be suscipious as they have pulled her in for a one to one interview and someone actually came to her house. She says she has depression.
