What;s the score with cooking meat when it's still frozen...or partially frozen. For example

I decide at midday that we're going to have curry for dinner. I get the frozen chicken breasts out of the freezer but by the time it comes to cooking the meal at 6.30 ish, the chicken is semi frozen. I chop the chicken breasts up and cook them as normal despite being semi frozen.

As above but with pork streaky slices /

can any harm come of this ?....i cook the chicken thoroughly and the same with the pork.

Any suggestions welcome....oh....and we're still here to tell the tale !!!

I often cook lamb and beef joints from frozen, i have looked it up in the past and the general rule seems to be if its a joint, and has no cavity ,then cooking from frozen is ok, but rememberadd 10-20 mins a Lb extra cooking time.:-)
I always cook frozen meat. Put it into microwave (full power) for as long as it takes to soften - (20mins for 1lb mince.) Then cook as normal.

Frozen half lb bacon takes 10mins in micro then fry as usual.

Frozen chicken breasts - 15mins micro then cook as normal.

I assume that you chop your meat for the curry so as long as you cook it thoroughly there will be no problem.
My Mum says...

If its got four legs, you can cook it from frozen (beef, lamb, pork)
If its got two legs, it has to be defrosted first. (poultry - chicken, turkey)

And this is the rule i have always gone by too, and I havent poisened anyone yet, to my knowledge!
Chicken I defrost more quickly by putting portions in a bag, and the sealed bag in COLD water.
I hate to defrost in micro, I find it starts to cook, and then I worry about how properly is cooked...
