I am returning to work on friday from Maternity leave.
I contacted HMRC to tell them that i am going back to work and my new wages etc.
They want to see my contract of employment and also my salary sacrifice scheme contract(childcare vouchers) as they said this will affect how much i can claim if i am claiming childcare vouchers?
I have told them how much my wages are, and they have my contract of employment so i the money that I am getting in wages in less than i declared due to \hildcare vouchers 85 per month,
Will i still be entitled to Tax credits as HMRC will not confirm until they have my next payslip and sent it to them end of feb?????
Is this normal? when I signed up for tax credits they never wanted that much info? And how does claiming Childcare vouchers change my allowance?

Hope this makes sense.

I don't know the rules on salary sacrifice, but it does affect the way in which tax credit entitlement is calculated. I think the value of the vouchers is deemed to be income, but there will also be an interaction with the amount of your childcare costs.

Whether you are entitled to tax credits will depend on your total income, & on what your childcare costs are.

I don't understand why they want so much information - seems over-cautious to me.
