Exspenses against an estate

A brother of a deceased man has come from abroad to the funeral and is attempting to claim back monies paid out for food, accomadation,hire car and fights against his estate. Can he do that ? He is a beneficiary as there is no will, no spouse or parents.

He has no right to make any claim against the estate specifically for him to attend the funeral. See here:

However, if he seeks letters of administration in order to be able to distribute the estate, he would be able to claim expenses from the estate for a visit to the UK so that he could attend the probate office.
