suggestions

1. add mash potato to take away some of the heat.
2. add chunks of potatoes and cook, but you don't have to serve the potatoes.
3. add another tin of tomatoes and cook to mix in.
4. add some more kidney beans and cook.
5. all of the above.

wonderful. thank you jack daniels
I put a teaspoon of sugar in mine if it's a bit too hot.
I would serve it with avocado salsa

creme fraiche, chopped avocado, halved cherry tomatoes, chopped red onion, lime juice and coriander/parsley

the combination of the hot chilli and the cooling salsa is delicious
i was once tol mexicans put grated plain (definately not cadburys dairy milk lol ) chocolate in chilli to counter act the burn, don`t know if it works as i don`t like chilli lol
Know that chocolate enhances the flavour just a small piece of plain chocolate, dont know about it making the chilli less hot!!!
Remove all the kidney beans and send it to me! I'll add a bit of extra habanero and a tin of baked beans.
Gormy u got class!!!
maybe that was it puddicat :-) was looooong time ago lol,
And 2 boxes of Dorset Nagas in the freezer
I just throw another tin of baked beans into it. Usually helps unless its proper fiery hot! Makes it go further aswell!
the way to counteract chili is with plain yoghurt, thats the official line
You could serve up some lassi (a milk drink) in a glass or, as Kev says, some plain yoghurt in little bowls alongside the chilli dish - it will definitely reduce the spiciness and means that if anyone actually wants it really hot, they don't have to eat the yoghurt !
The sugar in the chocolate is the same theory as normal sugar. Sugar counteracts heat, a teaspoon of sugar works.
