Fixed penalties can an error cause them to be dismissed?

My sister received a fixed penalty notice today and the officer when writing it out put the year as 08 instead of 09 but then he noticed and changed it to 09 by trying to go over the 08 he had originally written however it still looks like 08.

Can an error like this cause the ticket to be quashed?

i dont think the tem quashed is appropriate, aside from that, it was an error which was corrected immediately, i dont think that the ticket would be void on that basis, and the fixed penalty would still be imposed

No. And even if it wasn't corrected and you decided to fight it in Court the Prosecutor would apply to amend the charge as you would not have been misled (having received it on the day it was issued) and it would undoubtedly be granted.

A few years ago I had a parking ticket rescinded because the policeman put the wrong date on it, but I had to bring it to the attention of the officer at the local police station. I received written comfirmation that no further action would be taken.

Just pay the bl**dy fine and stop trying to squirm out of it. Or tell your sister anyway.

She was going to pay the fine Cheeky but the way the officer spoke to her was out of order, some police officers think they are above the law and can talk to us how they want to so because of this and the error if she could get the ticket recinded its fair justice for the way he initially spoke to her that is why I come on here to find out.

If i can get some justice for her because of this officers attitude then I will.

My sister was not rude to him so why does he have to be rude to her!!
